Flint Hills Discovery Center
Opened in April 2012, the Flint Hills Discovery Center (FHDC) is a new state-of-the-art science and history center located in Manhattan, KS. Using well-tested hands on interactive strategies, the permanent exhibits engage visitors of all ages. Text and graphics, artifacts and replicas are all used to tell the story of the geology, biology and cultural history of the 4 million acre Flint Hills and Osage Hills region. This is supplemented with 10 audio/video presentations in the exhibits area, as well as a 15-minute film about the Flint Hills produced at the highest level of current high definition projection.
